Know a networking ninja? We are looking to hire a network engineer for the 1Velocity Network Operations team.
Responsibilities:
- Design large complex enterprise infrastructures serving hundreds of customers within and between cities.
- Leverage both proven and innovative new technology approaches to solve challenging business IT opportunities.
- Demonstrate strong team leadership, focus on results, enabling the business to grow and operate more effectively.
- Provide pre-sales support, assessments, documentation and technical leadership.
- Resolve technical issues between users and providers.
The ideal candidate will have the following technical expertise:
- Extensive (seven or more years) experience in the numerous areas of networking, including local and wide area networks (many of the following: Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Private Line, MPLS, TLS, Cisco Ether Channel, 802.1Q, VoIP)
- Experience with Ethernet trunking and configuring Ethernet VLANs
- Experience in developing network design through implementation
- Experience in configuring multi vendor (Cisco, NSN, Ciena) network equipment
- Experience with network test gear and testing network equipment
- Experience in configuring NAT and Routing Protocols.
- Experience with SNMP command and telemetry systems.
- Willing to provide after-hours support when necessary.
- Willing to work non-standard hours when necessary.
- Ability to work in high pressure, highly flexible environment against both short and long term requirements.
Education and Certifications:
BSCS, BSEE, MSCS, MSEE or equivalent work experience and practical knowledge.
The following certifications would be helpful and applicable: CCIE and CCNA
