We’re Hiring! Network Engineer

Know a networking ninja? We are looking to hire a network engineer for the 1Velocity Network Operations team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design large complex enterprise infrastructures serving hundreds of customers within and between cities. 
  • Leverage both proven and innovative new technology approaches to solve challenging business IT opportunities. 
  • Demonstrate strong team leadership, focus on results, enabling the business to grow and operate more effectively. 
  • Provide pre-sales support, assessments, documentation and technical leadership. 
  • Resolve technical issues between users and providers. 

The ideal candidate will have the following technical expertise: 

  • Extensive (seven or more years) experience in the numerous areas of networking, including local and wide area networks (many of the following: Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Private Line, MPLS, TLS, Cisco Ether Channel, 802.1Q, VoIP) 
  • Experience with Ethernet trunking and configuring Ethernet VLANs
 
  • Experience in developing network design through implementation 
  • Experience in configuring multi vendor (Cisco, NSN, Ciena) network equipment 
  • Experience with network test gear and testing network equipment 
  • Experience in configuring NAT and Routing Protocols. 
  • Experience with SNMP command and telemetry systems. 
  • Willing to provide after-hours support when necessary. 
  • Willing to work non-standard hours when necessary. 
  • Ability to work in high pressure, highly flexible environment against both short and long term requirements. 

Education and Certifications: 
BSCS, BSEE, MSCS, MSEE or equivalent work experience and practical knowledge. 
The following certifications would be helpful and applicable: CCIE and CCNA
